DO YOU CREATE TIME FOR YOURSELF?
DO YOU CREATE TIME FOR YOURSELF?
Do you often run tough schedules?
Are you getting enourmous amount of pressure on you daily as you carry on your roles?
You need to meet deadline of tasks, deliver expectations from relationships, social media as well as information overload in modern day living which could cause you so much stress and pains physically or mentally.
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself if twenty four hours (24hrs) a day is enough at all?
Yes, I know I do so too. The days seem to run so fast at a speed you can’t explain only to see the end of the year approaching and the cycle continues.
The fact still remains that if you get caught in the midst of this rat race, you are bound to encounter stress and/or anxiety.
You just need to learn to create the time just FOR YOU BY YOU to GO MEDITATE.
Meditation is a practice that you need to develop gradually into your lifestyle till it becomes part of you and your normal way of life.
You can benefit from meditations in helping you to calm your mind, body and soul thereby catering for your holistic well-being.
Ask me how?
As we all know that meditation is an aged long practice in different belief systems/religions of the world as a silent moment to connect with God; a Higher Being. It is also backed by scientific evidences to help relieve stress and anxiety, strengthens concentration, improves communication in your relationships, increases self-awareness as well as helps to give clarity to your thoughts and focus.
Meditation helps you connect to yourself, your inner life. Therefore, meditation can be called your INNER SANCTUARY that requires you to be present in order to discover more of you for YOU. It allows you to be YOURSELF thereby helping with your spiritual enlightenment.
You need to create the time NOW to let your mind be in the present moment-allowing you the time to focus on yourself. This is MINDFULNESS MEDITATION. It has proven to help reduce the level of stress hormone-Cortisol in the blood.
So, try to find a unique moment in your day just for you to allow you press the pause button to de-clutter and calm your mind to achieve better self-reflection , self-compassion, self-awareness, self-appreciation, self-discovery and so on. All for you to be better at being YOU.
A good balance between your inner and outer living is all you need. Meditation can help you achieve this.
All that you require to practice good meditation is to do the following:
-Plan your day with a particular time dedicated for you- ‘ME TIME’ to allow for meditation and personal stuffs e. g self-reflection, journaling e.t.c.
-Have a comfortable and quiet space away from distractions that you can use for ease and consistency, you can also link it to a normal routine of the day e.g. before or after your early morning prayers, during morning or evening walks, on a train etc.
-Maintain a comfortable posture or position as you deem fit
(Closing your eyes isn’t compulsory though it helps to narrow your focus away from distractions
-You can do the Simple Breathing Technique
-Focus on your breathe
-Take a deep breathe into your abdomen counting from numbers 1 to 7
-Exhale or let out the air through the mouth counting from numbers 1 to 11.
-Repeat this process for about 10- 15 minutes.
-Ensure you do it at your own pace till you feel calmed and relaxed.
Meditation helps you get into a level of rest about four times more than sleep by restoring balance and mopping up stress in a state of rest as well as improving your sleep too.
What do you watch out for to have a good meditation technique:
-It easily fits into your daily routine till it becomes part of you.
-It needs to be deep within about 15-20 minutes to restore balance
-It should be blissful-comfortable and fulfilling
-It needs continuous practice- effort and commitment to reap its full benefits
